#[Twitter thread] by Stephanie: I need some first date ideas that doesn’t involve food because I’m eating out way too much. But ideally I like to be in a setting where we can sit and talk. Walks are out of the question especially when it’s subzero temps {{=: |dating relationships ideas}}

Good

Get to know you Jenga is fun. Take a Jenga set divide up the pieces and both of you write questions. Take turns answer the question you pull from the tower. (also best to not answer the rest of the questions after the tower falls, builds suspense for the next date)

Visit a museum, and sit on their benches while you critique art

Or even hit an area of town where there are galleries and also perhaps a cafe to chit chat in between.

Idk if it’s really sit and talk but I like dates at arcades or axe throwing

Men are sometimes better talkers when they have some activity to focus on so it seems less high-pressure. Games are good

board games. cafes that let you use their board games as long as you order a single thing (coffee, tea, cocoa) are wonderful and need to exist in more places.

Is this a first date or nth date? I just planned a date with a woman I’ve been seeing for like 2 months where we’re going to just take a day next weekend and spend it doing art and writing and other generative activities!

Jazz lounge?

Hiking or being out in nature brings out the the inner soul I feel.

if you're ever short on ideas for dates remember you can always get stoned in a blanket fort

Coffee is a good first date. Low investment, easy out, and flexible. I like to do coffee w/ a second plan if things go well and you want to keep it going

dance class

Go shopping! Thrifting to be thrifty or even just browsing kitschy shops is a fun way to learn about each others interests

climbing / bouldering date, sit and chat in between tries, build trust with top lining, grab coffee tea desert books afterwards

Try to find a book at the bookstore you like, then trade books and get back to me for a one on one “book club”

used book store, pick out a book for each other after talking a bit bonus points if they have room for sitting or a cafe

Recently saw a couple quietly reading to each other in a book store / coffee shop and chatting about it. I haven’t tried yet but feels like a cozy date option for two bookish people.

cook dinner at home together
