Jealousy doesn't exist

Status:: acorn

jealousy is a 'blanket' emotion. It doesn't really exist on its own but masks several other extremely nuanced emotions

(some reference to Book/The Ethical Slut ?)

Idea motivator

Twitter thread Honest question: What is the actual character of the emotion one feels when one is offended? 🧵

I was thinking about this tonight and it’s surprisingly hard to pin down. It’s like... kind of righteous anger but also disgust and/or shame, maybe? Threatened revulsion?

'“offended” is a sneaky guy, I find “jealousy” sneaky in the same way; I think those words actually communicate *why we think we are upset* but don’t actually point to a specific felt-sense of discomfort, could refer to any flavour of anger or hurt.'
